This studio aims to enhance critical thinking skills in examining the issues and problems at the local level, adopting reliable methods and techniques to assess the changes trends in identified sectoral, presenting the data, and designing practical and feasible action plans and written statements. Projects conducted in this studio involve preparing physical plans by utilising planning process mechanisms to employ a more holistic approach. Students will prepare action plan proposals and alternative plans considering the current economic trend, justification for plan evaluation, and estimated cost for development plan proposal. Focus on preparing physical plans such as Local Plan or Special Area Plan as documented in the Town and Country Planning Act Malaysia (1976) (Act 172). Comprehensive and in-depth understanding of related planning issues and problems from the physical, social, economic, and environmental aspects. It allows students to formulate feasible solutions and policy measures to address specific planning problems following the global agenda like Sustainable Development Goals (SGD).
