Tujuan Kursus: Kursus in bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada pelajar-pelajar tentang prinsip-prinsip dalam perawatan pesakit geriatrik.

This course is to educate pharmacy students on the importance of drug usage among the elderly population. Due to multiple medical conditions, appropriate medication use, complications and other psychological aspects may contribute to different approaches in treating geriatric patients. The syllabus includes the discussion of the ageing processes and their impact on drug usage, changes of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic, polypharmacy and drug use, risks in using certain drug classes, drug effects on the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, bone and muscle, and urinary system. Evaluation in geriatrics will also involve antibiotic usage and women and men’s health.
