In preclinical Paediatric Dentistry I course, students were introduced to the basic theories in behavioural sciences with its application for behaviour management strategies in paediatric dental setting.
They were also taught the pathophysiology and pathogenesis of oral diseases in paediatric patients with emphasis on the theories and practice for prevention and restorative techniques. Learning sessions include lectures, demonstration, operative technique practicals and Problem Based Learning (PBL).
Student’s competencies will be assessed through technique operative work book pertaining to primary dentition and young permanent teeth as their coursework and final year examination.
