Several topics of current scientific interest are usually suggested. Students should choose a topic that they are able to cope with and discuss the topic with their supervisors on a regular basis. However, students may also suggest a topic of their own choice subject to the agreement of the supervisor. A written report on the topic is required and will be examined by the supervisor and an appointed examiner upon final submission. In addition the student is required to present his report before a panel of examiners during the viva session.
