This course introduces the concepts of units, dimensions, space, time and movement and the use of vectors. Mechanical concepts of equilibrium of a rigid body includes torque. Newton’s Laws of Motion are used to describe motion in a plane, linear and trajectory kinematics as well as circular motion. Energy and momentum are use to describe collisions. The rotation of bodies introduces angular momentum and moment of inertia. Fluid mechanics explores the nature of fluids, pressure, buoyancy and fluid dynamics.
