The course aims to familiarise the students with the concepts and applications of various mathematical and statistical tools often used in economics writing.The contents include hypothesis testing for mean of one, two or more than two populations.Correlation and regression analysis will be carried out for simple linear regression, multiple regression and non-linear regression.The use of time series analysis, the formation of index number and matrix algebra will also be covered in this course.
