Precipitation techniques: conditions for formation of precipitates, the various types of precipitates formed, formation of impurities and their purifications.
Solvent extraction: distribution law/coefficient, solvent selection, extraction process, pH effects especially on metal ion extraction, the various techniques of extraction.

Titration and gravimetric analysis: theory, mechanism and relevant techniques.

Chromatographic Methods and Electrophoresis
Chromatographic methods of separation will be addressed: GC, LC, size exclusion, ion exchange, HPLC and electrophoresis. Principles involved, instrumentation, applications of those techniqies in solving chemical problems will be discussed.
