The presence of invasive species introduces threats to the survival of native species and biodiversity in ecosystems. This course aims to discuss the reasons that drive the introduction of invasive species in various natural and man-made systems. The concepts of evolution and success, spread, case studies, global patterns as well as appropriate invasive species mitigation measures will be discussed.
